Into The Great Wide Open 2021
In 2020 and 2021 Roosje Klap and I are the designers-in-residence for the music and art festival: “Into The Great Wide Open” which takes place every year on the Dutch island Vlieland.
For the year 2021 the theme was: Transit/Transform. If there is one term that applies to the times we live in, it is that of
'change'. The world as we know it from our childhood has lost its innocence. In this program we don't want to dwell so much on where we are going, but on the poin of change itself, in all its apparent transience: How is migration, diaspora and sense of community, but also movement and transience in their full glory? How does our need for connection and the search for our roots become visible?
